Global AI Investment Landscape Assessment

Situation

Our client wanted to explore how global investors are approaching AI investments in emerging markets within the Global South, particularly focusing on emerging investment trends, regional focus areas, and technology-specific shifts.

Objective

The objective was to assess how global investors view capital flows, trends in allocation, and regional dynamics such as policy, ecosystem maturity, and talent availability.

Our Work

10EQS conducted interviews with key stakeholders from Private Equity, Corporate Venture Capital, Venture Capital firms, as well as Wealth Management Funds. We explored their level of activity, geographic priorities, and views on the trends and dynamics shaping AI-related investments in emerging markets.

Results

10EQS found that some investors have made selective AI investments in the Global South, with the Middle East and India seeing the most activity. Others evaluated opportunities but did not proceed due to regulatory uncertainty, infrastructure gaps, and exit challenges. Overall, capital flows remain concentrated, with future appetite tied to policy, ecosystem maturity, and talent availability.
