Gen AI in M&A: Competitive & Vendor Landscape Assessment
Situation
Our client was looking to better understand how Gen AI is impacting the M&A lifecycle, how competitors are embedding these tools into their offerings, and which Gen AI vendors are emerging as leaders across key parts of the deal process.
Objective
The objective was to assess the Gen AI competitive and vendor landscape in M&A by mapping key players and capabilities and benchmarking how leading firms are adopting AI across the deal lifecycle, including due diligence, valuation, post-merger integration, and workflow automation.
Our Work
10EQS gathered insights from Gen AI vendors, professional services firms, and private equity into how Generative AI is transforming the M&A landscape – from reshaping core deal processes to influencing how firms build proprietary platforms, form strategic partnerships, and deliver value to clients through faster, more scalable solutions.

Results
The VDR (virtual data room) market is growing, with vendors focusing on different M&A stages, while skepticism about AI’s accuracy and reluctance to change persist but are expected to decrease. Gen AI enables faster insights, better analysis, and less labor-intensive management, although high-quality examples in risk management and value creation are still rare.
